The movement of tagged females in the river will be recorded with biweekly radio tracking (incl. GPS) during the spawning migration period (July-Oct) until they reach the spawning site.

Data on migratory distance, salmon positions in the river during migration (coordinates) etc, will be reported after their geographical position in a GIS-database.

A fixed automatic radio tracking unit (LOTEK) placed about 167 Km upriver (close to Björksele) will be the goal for calculating the individual speed in migration.
Material, Place and Time
Wild salmon females from the Vindelälven stock will be radio tagged when passing the fish ladder in Norrfors and followed on their upstream migration in the Vindelälven.
